Welcome to the Grace Bible Church family website! We are so pleased that you have an interest in worshipping with us. That worship experience is one that continues in our personal lives beyond Sunday throughout the week in our small groups. At Grace Bible Church, we are not just a church with small groups. We are a church of small groups. What we mean by this is that we make it a point to carry out the primary mission of the church through the ministry of our small groups which we call LifeGroups. Please allow us to help you understand a little bit more about the LifeGroup ministry in our church family.

Q. What is a LifeGroup?

A LifeGroup is a “minichurch” of a dozen or so people that meets in a home on a weekly basis. The core purpose of a LifeGroup is to provide a balanced experience of the Grace Bible Church community. Its goal is to pursue the same three biblical missions as the larger church: Care, Growth and Impact. It also serves as the primary connection point to Grace Bible Church.

Q. How is a LifeGroup different than other small groups?

Most small groups are designed to provide one or more of the three vital experiences of the Christian life: Care (inward), Growth (upward) and Impact (outward). You might also think of these as the “heart,” “head” and “hands” experiences of the Christian. The LifeGroup is designed to provide all three experiences in balance.

Q. What will each of these experiences look like in the LifeGroup?

As a caring community, it is our desire that you feel loved by all the people of Grace, but especially by those in your LifeGroup. In this elder-led environment, within a group of a dozen or so people, we are able to know you personally and meet your needs.

As a growing community, we long to see you establish and develop a relationship with God. Your LifeGroup provides the opportunity to meet you right where you are in your spiritual journey and help you take the next step. This is accomplished through our weekly Bible-based discussion time as well as personal, one-on-one mentoring if you desire it.

As an impacting community, you may serve others through a variety of avenues. LifeGroups influence our world by serving others in Palestine, bringing meals, building houses and sending short-term missionaries. Each LifeGroup is free to create new methods of impact that best suits their unique group.

Grace Bible Church does offer regular classes for new members including book studies, apologetics, marriage and financial help and more. However the difference is that each of these Sunday morning classes is topic-based and finite in duration. LifeGroups are not finite, they are family.

Q. When and where do they meet?

We do not set specific times when all groups are required to meet. Each LifeGroup decides for itself when and where their meetings will be. Generally groups meet in homes of a participant. This freedom allows you to be involved in one that best suits your own schedule and needs. Please contact our office for a list of what groups might fit your needs.

Q. How do I join a LifeGroup?

You are free to join whichever one you like, whenever you like. You may decide to not join one at all. The choice is yours. You are free to join any group you want based on whatever factors you want to consider. You may want to visit several before joining. You are always free to visit other groups.

Q. Have any provisions been made for those with small children?

We do not provide one central location for child care during LifeGroup meetings. Each group is free and responsible to meet member childcare needs in whatever form is required.
